Taylor Levick D.C.
Dr. Taylor initially developed a passion for movement after growing up being a clumsy mediocre athlete. Though he never lacked grit and determination, he never appeared to be a natural born athlete. This led him to becoming a gym rat in college, always seeking to improve his movement competency and athleticism.
With the guidance of several influential mentors in college, Dr. Taylor discovered chiropractic and massage therapy, which revealed to him that his lack of athleticism was largely because his joints physically could not get into the positions needed to excel in sport. He was too stiff and lacked ample joint stability, causing movement compensations that robbed him of athletic prowess.
Dr. Taylor brought this newfound knowledge into personal training throughout undergraduate school at the University of Florida, prompting him to switch majors from mechanical engineering to exercise physiology. He continued personal training through his time in massage therapy school and subsequently into chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic, giving him plenty of reps coaching movement and seeing what exercises, stretches, and cues really made the biggest impact. The hands-on skills he developed in massage therapy and chiropractic schools only supercharged his ability to improve movement, improve athleticism, and get patients out of pain.
A life-long learner, Dr. Taylor has continued his education through countless seminars, learning and employing modalities such as Active Release Techniques (ART), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Functional Release Conditioning (FRC), and numerous other techniques (which all seemingly have their own 3-letter acronyms).
When it comes to treatment, Dr. Taylor not only aims to get his patients out of pain as quickly as possible, but also to restore function in an attempt to prevent future injury.
Dr. Taylor has also spent several years as an orthopedic medical device representative, giving him unique insight into surgical interventions and other treatment options often employed to help treat orthopedic conditions.
In his spare time Dr. Taylor loves spending time keeping his own body operating at a high level by getting to the gym regularly and hiking the Blue Ridge with Dr. Angela and their two beautiful daughters.
